A new chapter for emergency care in Canberra
Canberra Veterinary Emergency Service (CVES) is entering its next chapter as part of the Animal Emergency Service (AES) network.
From 29 April 2026, CVES will transition to a new location designed to provide improved space, infrastructure and support, strengthening emergency and critical care for patients, supporting our teams, and enabling the sustainable growth of services across the Canberra region.
As part of this transition, CVES will soon be known as Animal Emergency Service (AES) Canberra, aligning the hospital more clearly with the broader Animal Emergency Australia network, which has delivered emergency and critical care for over 20 years across Australia.
CVES has been part of the AEA network for many years, and this change reflects a natural evolution, aligning the hospital’s name with how it already operates today.
While the name will change, the local team, values and patient‑first approach remain the same.
AES is 100% employee‑owned and fully independent, and our commitment to patients, clients, referring practices and the Canberra community is unchanged.”
