Tic Tack, the chihuahua-maltese cross was bitten by an eastern brown snake and collapsed within 10 minutes and was only saved after being given a new antivenene, reported The Courier-Mail.
Animal Emergency Service’s Dr Ellie Leister where Tic Tac was treated says they been inundated with six more snake bite cases within 24 hours.
Dr Leister said due to the dry and unseasonably hot conditions are bring out snakes early. She said owners need to be aware that dogs may temporarily recover from a snake bite before lapsing into a potentially fatal coma, urging all owner to take their pets to the vet immediately after any bite.
