Marilie always wanted to be a vet and in grade 11, her dad helped her get work with the closest vet. From then, she progressed to becoming a nurse as she enjoys the process of nursing the patients from their arrival to when they go home.
Marilie completed her studies in South Africa where she worked at the teaching hospital for three years. Her career has spanned across South Africa, the UK, Scotland and now Australia. She has over eight years of intensive care experience as well as five years in management prior to joining Animal Emergency Service.
In her spare time, Marilie enjoys bird watching, hiking, pilates and time with her 2 daughters as well as family. The family has a pet Guinea Pig ‘Rainbow’ who is 4 years old and enjoys rides in the girl’s doll prams.
