Animal Emergency Service is a specialised emergency veterinary practice developed to provide urgent medical attention to pets and other animals when primary veterinary clinics are closed. We operate from 6pm to 8am weekdays and 24hrs on weekends and public holidays. As a family-owned company, our main objective is to deliver gold-standard care to all our patients and clients. This is why we are fully equipped to deal with the many diverse caseloads that present to AES on a daily basis.
About the role…
The position is for a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse who has an interest in emergency work and a passion for gold standard care. You will be working in a fast-paced environment on a rotating monthly roster. As an AES nurse, you will be required to work in every area of the hospital which may include theatre, procedures, hospital and reception. We offer extensive training plans to all new team members and continuity of education for all staff. We can also provide many career pathway opportunities such as senior nurse positions, shift supervisors and clinical pathways into Pet Intensive Care Unit.

Requirements of the role:
- Must have either a Certificate IV of Vet Nursing or Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.
- Preferred minimum 2 years’ experience post qualification but not necessary.
- Must be able to work across nights, weekends and public holidays as required.
- Driver’s license essential.
- You must be a reliable and trustworthy team member.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to work successfully in both a team environment and autonomously.
