Kate Wesche

Nurse Manager
Cert 4 Veterinary Nurse

Kate is a Veterinary Nurse who gained her qualification whilst working in a large mixed practice in her hometown of Mackay. She has worked with dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, horses, cattle, sheep, goats and even pigs!

Kate decided to make the move down to Brisbane and AES because she wanted to continue to learn and challenge herself within this amazing industry. She intends to further her studies and complete her diploma of Emergency and Critical Care next year.

The veterinary industry has always been in Kate’s family and a part of her life. Her uncle established the Dayboro Vet Surgery which is now part of The University of Queensland, ‘I can remember from a very young age visiting my aunty, who is also a Vet, at her surgery and wanting to help out and know about everything she was doing.’

‘The human-animal bond is an incredible thing to witness. To be able to be a part of that bond and to be a part of the healing process of someone’s pet is such an honour and a privilege.’
