Becoming a vet was always an ambition of mine from a very young age. I was born in Australia but my family moved to Hong Kong when I was 9 years old so I completed my high schooling there. At the time there was no vet school in Hong Kong so I moved back to Australia in 2003 when I started my Bachelor degree at University of Queensland.

I worked as a research assistant while undertaking my veterinary studies and was given the scholarship to complete a research honors degree so in 2007 I graduated with both a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science in animal studies.

After graduating I completed a rotating internship at Pet Emergency and Queensland Veterinary Specialists prior to commencing as an Emergency clinician at Animal Emergency Service in 2009.

I have been working at Animal Emergency Service ever since and I love this place. The combination of challenging hours, exciting workload and a nice work-life balance make it the perfect job for me. I have continued with furthering my skills by having obtained a Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Emergency and Critical Care in 2013 and a Masters in Small Animal Veterinary Studies through Murdoch University in 2016. I was honored to join the senior veterinary team here at Animal Emergency Service in 2014 and enjoy the leadership role I play.

My husband, also a vet, and I met at AES years ago. Our family has expanded to consist of our two son’s and one daughter and our beloved pets, a golden retriever and a cat whom I raised from 2 days old that was brought into AES having been abandoned. I am passionate about travel and have been fortunate to have been to over 50 countries since I left Hong Kong. I also love to do yoga to keep the mind, body and soul fit when time permits.
